Authentication

Bites API requests use a Sanctum bearer token. Obtain a token through the approved login flow for your client, store it as a secret, and send it in the Authorization header.
The permissions endpoint returns the permission names available to the current user in the active workspace:

Security guidance

  • Keep tokens in a secret manager or the client’s protected secret storage.
  • Never place a token in a URL, screenshot, repository, or browser-side log.
  • Use the least-privileged account and workspace role for an integration.
  • Revoke and rotate a token after suspected exposure.
  • Treat 401 as an authentication problem and 403 as a permission or workspace-boundary problem.
